Quick Winner: WalkingPad Z1

Incline versus everyday usability: the DeerRun adds motorized incline, but the WalkingPad Z1 is the better desk-work pad — quieter, longer deck, no beeping — and wins for most buyers.

The verdict

These two budget-to-mid pads compete for the same buyer, and they solve the problem differently. The DeerRun Z10 (~$299) has the headline feature — automatic 0–9% incline that nothing else at the price offers — plus a higher 300 lb capacity. But for actual desk work it stumbles: the 35-inch deck is the shortest in the category (cramped over 5'8"), and it beeps loudly on startup and every speed change with no way to mute it, which is disqualifying for open-plan offices and calls. The WalkingPad Z1 (~$329) counters with a longer ~47-inch deck, a built-in display, FootSense auto-speed, quiet operation, and no beeping. For most people using a pad while they work — especially in a shared space — the Z1 is the better machine. Choose the DeerRun Z10 only if automatic incline is your specific priority and you will use it in a private room where the beep and short deck do not matter.
