The verdict
This is DME engineering against brand familiarity. The Pride VivaLift! Radiance (~$2,550) is a purpose-built medical lift chair: dual independent motors, true-infinite recline, a 400 lb capacity, a wireless charger and memory positions, and a lifetime mechanism warranty — plus Medicare eligibility on the lift motor. The La-Z-Boy Pinnacle Platinum (~$2,150–$3,630) counters with what Pride cannot: a showroom where you sit in the exact chair and cover before buying, 800-plus customization options, and a limited-lifetime frame warranty from a name everyone knows. But the Pinnacle is made-to-order with a 6–8 week wait, omits heat and massage on the base model, and — despite the century-old brand — carries a BBB "F" with real complaints of failed mechanisms and slow service. For the core job of lifting, reclining, and lasting, the Pride is the better and more reliable chair. Choose the La-Z-Boy only if trying it in person and the frame warranty outweigh the Pride's stronger function and record.
